Aussie Produce Guide started from a simple, personal need: I wanted to know what's actually in season in Australia so that I can shop and eat more sustainably. The resources exist but are usually lists or tables, and I wanted something more visual.
I designed it in Figma as a full month-by-month calendar first, then realised what I actually wanted day-to-day was just to know what's good right now, so I built a home view around that, moving constantly between Figma and Claude Code to design, build, and ship it as a real product rather than a mockup.
When it became clear AI-generated icons couldn't capture what makes each fruit or vegetable recognisable, I redrew all ~90 illustrations and synced them back in, later formalising the whole thing into a proper design system. The result is a live guide I use myself, and a solo, end-to-end example of design and implementation done together rather than handed off.
